Floaties ("the app") is an Android app with Buddy, a cartoon puppy who floats on your screen, keeps you company, and reminds you to drink water, take breaks and remember the things you set. This policy explains what information the app uses and how.

In short: Floaties does not collect, send, sell or share your personal data. Everything the app uses stays on your phone. The app does not even have permission to use the internet, so it cannot send your information anywhere.

1. Information the app uses (only on your phone)

App usage (only if you allow "Usage access")

- Which app is open right now, how long the screen has been in use, and today's usage totals.

- Used to: show a matching Buddy animation (for example reading, listening to music, shopping or studying), count your daily study time, suggest screen breaks, and show your screen time and most used apps inside Floaties.

- Floaties never reads anything inside other apps: no messages, web pages, photos or other content. App names are not saved; only a general type (such as "music" or "study") and minute totals are saved.

Media playback

- Whether music or audio is playing, so Buddy can show his listening pose. Floaties does not know what is playing.

Reminders you create

- The note, date, time and repeat settings of each reminder.

Buddy and app data

- Buddy's stats and level, your interactions with Buddy, water and break logs, study minutes for the last 30 days, your best game score, your settings, and where Buddy sits on your screen.

2. Permissions and why they are needed

- Display over other apps: to show Buddy floating on your screen.

- Usage access (optional): for the app usage features above. You can turn it off any time in Android Settings; Buddy still works without it.

- Notifications: to show your reminders and gentle water and break nudges.

- Alarms and reminders: to show reminders at the exact time you choose.

- Run at startup: to keep your reminders, and to bring Buddy back after a restart if you turned that on.

- Foreground service: to keep the floating Buddy running while he is on your screen. Android shows a small ongoing notification while he is active.

3. Storage, how long it is kept, and deleting it

- All information is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone.

- Study time is kept for 30 days. Reminders are kept until you mark them done or delete them.

- Settings > "Reset Buddy data" clears Buddy's stats, activity history, study time and game score. Uninstalling Floaties deletes all of its data.

- If you have Android's own device backup turned on, Android may include Floaties' data in your personal backup to your Google account. That backup is handled by Google under its privacy policy; the developer of Floaties cannot see it.

4. Sharing

Floaties does not share any information with anyone. It contains no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party services that receive your data.

5. Children

Floaties does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

6. Security

Your information never leaves your phone through Floaties and is kept in the app's private storage, protected by Android.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
